What we found looking at all four
The most striking thing about this category is how little of it is written down. Four of the five apps here — ours included, until this site existed — market themselves through a single landing page. Steeped, TeaMaster and gongfutimer.com are literally one URL with anchor links; MyTeaPal has a handful of sections but publishes no tea count. Nobody puts their brewing parameters where a search engine, or a person with a kettle already boiling, can find them.
That is why so many cells in the table above say not published. It is not an accusation. It is the honest result of comparing what companies say about themselves, and it explains what Teafinity is actually betting on: that the parameters — temperatures, ratios, times, Gong Fu ladders, caffeine in milligrams — belong on the open web, free, for all 176 teas, whether or not you ever install an app.
The four comparisons below each open with what the other app does better, because that is the only version of a comparison page worth reading. MyTeaPal has the journal and the club. Cuppa is free and open source. Steeped takes brewing methods more seriously than most. TeaMaster reached Ukrainian and Russian speakers before anyone else. Those are real, and none of them are things Teafinity does.
How we put these tables together
Every competitor cell describes what that company publishes on its own website, checked in August 2026. Where a cell says not published, not documented or not stated, it means exactly that — we could not verify it from their own pages — and never that the feature is missing. Apps change; landing pages change more slowly.
We do not install competitors, time their alarms and write up the results. That kind of comparison ages badly and tends to flatter whoever wrote it. We compare published claims against published claims, and we publish ours in full — all 176 teas, with their parameters, are on this website for free.
